Welcome to the Arizona ACA Retreat In The Pines! 2024 marks the 37th annual retreat that provides adult children of alcoholics and dysfunctional families with a meaningful and relaxing weekend of personal growth and recovery. If you’re an ACA attending meetings and working the program, we invite you to join us in September for a weekend of fellowship, healing and fun. We are happy to report that the ACA Retreat has returned to Mingus Mountain! We hope you will join us at our retreat for recovery, fun, creativity, and fellowship.

Yes. If you are in need of a scholarship, please email registration@aca-retreat.org with a description of your need. The retreat committee will evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

RV spaces with hookups are available.  Select off-site camping when you register.  Space is limited.

Flying into Phoenix, use Sky Harbor International airport, skyharbor.com This airport is 111-mile drive to the camp.

Flying into Prescott, use the Prescott Regional airport, flyprescott.com. This airport is 35-miles to the camp but is a smaller airport.

We are not able to supply transportation to the retreat, however, you can join the retreat Facebook page and arrange a ride share. Otherwise, you will need to rent a car or Uber. It is a two-hour ride from the airport to the retreat (113 miles).

To join the Facebook group, go to Facebook, then search: ACA RETREAT in the PINES (formerly ACA Retreat Mingus Mountain). This is a private group, so you will need to request to join.

The weekend pass includes two nights lodging, five meals, and all workshops and retreat activities. We have discounted weekend passes for members who wish to stay in Rustic cabins or use their own Tents and RVs. See the registration page for additional activities and meal options.

The only options for couples are RV, tent camping, and booking off-site accommodations.

Refunds are available up to 30 days before event. 
Eventbrite’s fee is nonrefundable.

When purchasing your registration, check the box that says “I want to volunteer”.  You’ll be contacted soon after by our volunteer coordinator.

ACA Arizona Retreat strives to create a fully inclusive culture and environment that values equality and fosters respect for all people. We understand that the ACA Arizona Retreat is a shared journey from which no one should be excluded. In alignment with our values, vision and mission, we welcome all persons, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, as full participants in all our programs. We encourage our guests to develop self-confidence, embrace their creativity, explore their surroundings and create relationships.

We also recognize that gender identity and lodging may be a consideration for some individuals attending the retreat. Our camp offers Male & Female lodging. For those who identify as other than their born gender, offsite lodging and tent camping are available.

While the retreat committee members are all animal lovers and recognize the value of their presence in our lives, camp policy is to only allow ADA Certified Service animals to accompany their handler to the camp. Therapy dogs are not permitted. 

When you arrive, please park your car at the designated parking on the first left at the entrance of the camp. After you have checked in at registration, you can drive your car to your lodging to drop off your things. Cars must be returned to the main parking lot. Please back your car into the spot.

The camp can accommodate vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, kosher, and vegetarian with a meat substitute for an additional charge. The camp can also meet common dietary needs such as dairy free, nut allergies, and shellfish allergies at no cost. The camp is NOT equipped to handle a combination of needs.

Yes! There are refrigerators and microwaves in all three lodges that you can store any food you need to for your dietary needs.

Yes! Lodging will provide a twin size mattress for each attendee, but you will need to provide your own bedding/blankets/pillows, etc.

Campers may use the bathroom and shower facilities in the lodges. Please note that women and men have separate lodges. Women campers can use the facilities in Agape or Harris lodges. Men campers can use the facilities in Mariposa lodge. All campers can use bathrooms at the pavilion and dining hall.

Mingus Mountain campground has very few spaces that are wheelchair accessible. Most paths are dirt and gravel. Most lodges and meeting areas include navigating up a hill and using some stairs. We will have limited golf cart rides available.

Campers may use the bathroom and shower facilities in the lodges. Please note that women and men have separate lodges. Women campers can use the facilities in Agape or Harris lodges. Men campers can use the facilities in Mariposa lodge. All campers can use bathrooms at the pavilion and dining hall.

Check in begins at 2pm. Early check in is not available.
